Characteristics of Flor de Agua massages
Sweetness, Softness
My massages are very gentle, enveloping, and caring. The idea is that the person can connect with themselves on an emotional level, and I believe that with a stronger massage, it's more difficult to achieve those benefits.
I draw inspiration from the element of water and the dream world to develop that softness.
Slowness
Most of my massages are slow; the body needs that slowness to disconnect from the speed of everyday life. I recently watched a documentary about plant life, and one of the researchers explained that the plant world lives at a different pace than the animal kingdom, yet we are all still connected. I like to believe that with this slowness in massages, we get a little closer to the plant world.
Intention and Quality
For me, quality is not just about my knowledge of anatomy or academic background; quality lies in the care for the person, listening, giving the massage with intention, being focused on what one is doing, and being entirely dedicated to it. Setting a simple intention with humility, care, almost maternal love, unconditional and universal love—what all living beings need at birth and beyond—is very important. Bringing that intention with a professional focus throughout the massage will help the person receiving it to relax and feel the massage.
I also try to give importance to all the details of the environment, such as the lighting, creams, and music. Everything is meticulously chosen with the goal of providing the best quality to the person receiving the massage.
Reunion with touch
My massages allow for a reunion with touch. Sometimes, due to the importance that screens take in our daily lives, we are very disconnected from our bodies. Also, stress and anxiety, more prevalent in big cities, distance us from feeling, from the sense of touch. Massages help awaken this sense and make us feel more relaxed.
It can be said that the skin is like the outer layer of the nervous system, and that’s why touch is a very important sense to understand and care for.
Personalization
For me, personalizing the massage is very important, which is why I consider my work to be artistic. My massages change and adapt to each person according to their physiology, but more than anything, they adapt according to the emotional moment someone is experiencing in their life. Throughout the session, the body will give me information about what it needs on that emotional level. In addition to that, the interview before the massage is very important so that the person can share with me all the information they think is useful for their personal development.
